To raise money for 'Daisy Chain', Genesis CEO Aidan Bruce is preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa.
Aidan Bruce
Daisy Chain is a unique charity established to address the needs of both children with autism and their families. They do this through providing a range of services and activities from their 5.5-acre farm in Stockton-on-Tees where they are based.

Aidan, along with other group members, leaves for Tanzania early next month.

At more than 19,000 feet Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and anyone who saw the celebrities Chris Moyles, Cheryl Cole, Ronan Keating and Alesha Dixon attempt the ascent during last years Red Nose Day will know how difficult the thin atmosphere makes the climb.

Aidan is determined to surmount the challenge: "I was a bit lucky to get on the trip and it means I haven’t had as much time to prepare as I would have liked. I will soon find out if that will affect my attempt or not. One thing it won’t affect is the commitment of Genesis to Daisy Chain and the great work it does with families across the Tees Valley. Starting with the Kilimanjaro Challenge we will do everything we can to support this wonderful charity."

Below are our top 5 technology predictions for 2010

  • 1 - Tracking and Alerting
Our Iphones and Smartphones all have GPS enabled nowadays and these devices will now be used to track where you have been, how fast you walked and plot a chart of your activity as part of your fitness regime. Alternatively it may be used to track buses, taxi's. Advertising will soon be aimed at you depending on where you are, i.e. Your'e in Stokesley, did you know that you can get 2 pizzas for £10 tonight.
  • 2 - Wireless Power
I'm pretty sure this will start to emerge in 2010. Imagine an office with a laptop, a printer with no cables connecting to the wall or to each other. Charging your laptop in an airport simply by logging onto a wifi zone? Give new meaning to "Hotspot"
  • 3 - 3D Computing
Sony will go big on 3D TV this year and this will soon follow into the Computer Market. Photo's and applications will be brough to life via 3D and no doubt Oakley will pioneer cool 3D specs rather than the Ray Charles style glasses you get in the cinema now.
  • 4 - Wi fi Direct
This technology will turn your gadgets into mini wireless access points extenting and strengthening the range of your wireless network. You images from your camera will be downloaded to your computer by the time you open the front door and your DVD player will be boosting your Wi fi Signal around the house.
  • 5 - Fat to Thin
No, I am not suggesting there will be a global cure for obesity. The cloud will start to take off in 2010 and users will no longer need high spec PCs. Instead they will start to opt for netbooks or thin clients as all of their apps and data will be stored in the cloud. Microsoft hosted services will change the way IT Departments work and mean that more people can enjoy corporate applications that they previously couldn't afford.

MC Ware are now able to cover lost photographs and corrupted images from all camera and memory cards.

If you have ever plugged in your camera or memory card into the computer and noticed that all of the images have either disappeared or now have a BC! Suffix and you get "this image is corrupted" message you will know how annoying this is and your chances or recovering them until now were slim at best. Between MC Ware and or sister company HD Forensics we have developed a solution that will help you get them all back. We suggest that you e-mail one of the corrupted files and we will recover it free of charge and send it back to you before we work on the rest of you images.

Jonathan Wheatley says "It has to be one of the worst feelings when you finally get round to downloading your pictures to the computer and you see they are either all gone or you can't open them. Sometimes MC Ware are even able to get photo's that you have deleted months ago"
